It has been a three year process....

Three years ago, Spring 2006 I died of embarrassment as my husband and I in our hand-me-down Buick, pulled up in front of our dream home in Idaho Falls, on South Boulevard. Louis having no fear, walked up the circular drive-way to take some pictures of our dream home. In the process the owner of the home pulled in, his driveway (If I remember correctly, in a convertible BMW). Louis introduced himself, and asked if he could take some pictures of his home... this conversation led to what the man did for a living: he worked for Edward Jones as an investment broker...this led to an application to Edward Jones.

After a very long interview/background process/ and a move of faith to Boise, Idaho (a story for another time). Louis was on board with Edward Jones beginning November 2006. Louis studied to take the first of many exams. His first attempt to take the series 7 exam the first week of January he failed. Edward Jones closed the door of employment since Louis was not able to pass. With a heavy heart Lou, was determined to prove to himself, his wife, family, Edward Jones, the world that he could pass this exam! He was able to find a firm to sponsor him to take the exam (Wadell & Reed). After a second failed exam, and lower spirits, Louis still had a glimmer of determination and fight. He took the exam for a third time and PASSED!!!! Louis took more exams: Life & Health Insurance, and still had one more exam to take: the 66 (this is the state exam. Louis needed a 70 to pass this exam, and got a 68. At this point in time Fall 2007 Louis and I had our baby boy JaMarcus, who was 6 months old, and Lou who again was feeling defeated allowing a little bit of doubt to enter...took a different turn in careers: selling furniture at Furniture Row, and working the summer for the Boise Hawks (A Baseball) as the on-field announcer. This experience was great for Louis, he was able to get himself out into the community and learn some selling skills, and this led Lou into an opportunity to go back into the Financial World, and he accepted a job with Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial. They are a great company and Louis really knew he had found his passion... Educating individuals about Finances, but he wanted a little more, he wanted his real end-all be all: Edward Jones. Many opportunities keep appearing and doors just continued to open, and Louis was able to get the second chance with Edward Jones. While in the second interview process with Edward Jones, Louis knew he had just one more exam to take: the 66, so he began to study.... Louis was re-hired with Edward Jones May 4,2009. He took his 66 exam yesterday: May 16,2009. And passed with flying colors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an accomplishment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow: look at what can happen with try try again attitude, get up when you fall down! Determination! Three years ago this month this process began, and right now Louis is employed with Edward Jones, and he is in Tempe Arizona for a week of training.

Louis, I am so proud to be your wife! This is what I love about you and why I married you.

1. You have a dream

2. You will continue to get up after each fall, because you believe in God, yourself, and your purpose.

3. You keep a smile on your face no matter the obstacle, or how bleek it looks because you know you were not promised this day, and since you have you make the best of it, and share it!

.....I can do all things with Christ who strengthens me............
